CNC Machinist – Vertical/Horizontal Mills

Position Summary:

Manufacture close tolerance parts to print using Mazatrol controlled CNC vertical and horizontal CNC machine tools.

Essential Job Functions:

Ability to set-up Vertical and/or horizontal machining centers for part machining to include: loading of programs, tools, offset setting of tools, machine zero setting and related tasks.
Perform in-process inspection of part in accordance with quality control department.
Interpret G and M code CNC program for ISO/EIA/Mazatrol on Mazak CNC control and utilize machine safety mechanisms (single block, rapid over-rides, etc.) to prove out programs and prevent machine tool collisions.
Required to make machine offsets to cutting tools and zero positions based on part print dimensions.
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Willingness to work in a team environment.

Essential Job Requirements:

EDUCATION High School education or general education degree (GED). Technical Degree Preferred.

EXPERIENCE 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience on Mazak controlled horizontal machine tools.

REQUIRED SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend part prints and GD&T standards. Mazatrol Programming

PREFERRED SKILLS (Skills not required but considered a plus)

FANUC Control Programming
CAMWorks and/or MasterCAM
SolidWorks
Manual Programming

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
