New AS9100D Certification opens Greno to aerospace and defense work

Quality has always been a major part of our culture at Greno Industries.  We are proud of the quality of our products, processes, and customer service. Our longtime ISO9001 certification reflects our success in this area.  However, rather than resting on our laurels, we decided to take on the challenge of making our Quality Management System even better.  Pursuing the AS9100D certification was an opportunity for us to do just that. 

Greno was amongst the first companies to be certified to the AS9100D certificate in the U.S., and was the first company certified by DQS to the AS9100D revision. 

For more than a year, we evaluated every aspect of our business, from production to payables.  We examined ways we could improve quality, assess and mitigate risk, and deliver the best possible products and services to our customers.  All staff members worked hard and dedicated themselves to the certification process. 

In April 2017 Greno passed the Stage 1 audit and in June 2017, we had our Stage 2, AS9100D audit.   After all the hard work, we were confident that we had succeeded in putting together a Quality Management System in compliance with the stringent AS9100D requirements.  At the end of the last day of the audit, the auditors told us that they were very impressed with what we achieved.  They could tell that our shop was well run, organized and clean – not just for the audit, but as a matter of everyday practice.  We had just one minor non-conformance – a result that is almost unheard of according to the auditors.  We were extremely proud to hear that DQS, an IQNet certified body, would recommend us for the AS9100D certification.

Greno was amongst the first companies to be certified to the AS9100D certificate in the U.S., and was the first company certified by DQS to the AS9100D revision. 

In August 2017, we received the official copy of our certificate.  Everyone at Greno Industries is proud of this achievement and contributed in meaningful ways.  Our success is only possible because of our employees’ commitment to provide our customers with the best quality possible.

New market in aerospace and defense

We are now able to expand into the aerospace and defense markets, enabling us to provide parts for some of the most technologically advanced systems in the world.  We can take on new customers and new challenges, while continuing to serve our customers in all industries and with the same high quality standards we apply to our aerospace and defense clients.

About AS9100D Certification

AS9100 encompasses ISO 9001, with about 105 additional requirements for quality and safety relevant to aerospace/defense. It defines the quality management systems standard for the industry. All major aerospace manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers worldwide endorse and require certification to AS9100 as a condition of doing business with them.
